Ohio State BuckeyesIndiana Hoosiers
No. 4 Ohio State left Bloomington with a 19-15 win over No. 5 Indiana, ending the Hoosiers' unbeaten season and moving both teams to 6-1, according to ESPN's box score. The decisive moment came with about a minute left. Indiana had driven to the Buckeyes' 27-yard line when Josh Hoover's fourth-down pass for Nick Marsh fell incomplete, and Ohio State then kneeled out the clock.
The Buckeyes did it without running back Ja'Kobi Jackson, who was ruled out, so Bo Jackson started and carried 18 times for 56 yards, plus a 2-yard touchdown catch just before halftime. Julian Sayin threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns, including a 38-yarder to Jeremiah Smith early in the fourth quarter that made it 19-7, though he also threw two interceptions. Indiana answered with a Hoover touchdown pass to Marsh and a two-point conversion to Turbo Richard. Hoover threw for 296 yards, and Charlie Becker caught nine passes for 165.
Ohio State improved to 4-0 in Big Ten play, and Indiana fell to 3-1, according to ESPN.

New Florida stuns No. 7 Texas in Austin; LSU blanks Mississippi State
Florida GatorsTexas LonghornsLSU TigersMississippi State Bulldogs
The upset of the early window came out of Austin. Florida, which had dropped out of the rankings after back-to-back losses, beat No. 7 Texas 27-24 with sophomore Tramell Jones Jr. making the first start of his career, according to ESPN. Jones was named the starter because Aaron Philo was nursing a shoulder injury from last week's loss to South Carolina.
Texas jumped out to a 17-3 lead, helped by Ryan Niblett's punt return for a touchdown, but Jones threw two short touchdown passes to tight end Lacota Dippre, one just before halftime and one in the third quarter, to tie it. A Florida field goal and an 11-yard touchdown run by Jadan Baugh with a little over six minutes left made it 27-17. Arch Manning answered with a touchdown pass to Cam Coleman, but Florida held on, according to ESPN's box score. The Longhorns fall to 4-2.
In Baton Rouge, No. 22 LSU never let No. 16 Mississippi State into the game. Sam Leavitt threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Jackson Harris, in a 31-0 shutout, according to ESPN. The Bulldogs played without quarterback Kamario Taylor and running back Fluff Bothwell. Both had been listed as doubtful this morning and were ruled out before kickoff, ESPN's Alex Scarborough reported.
Elsewhere, No. 25 Northwestern won 24-21 at Michigan State to improve to 5-1, according to ESPN's scoreboard, and No. 24 SMU beat Virginia 23-13 behind two Kevin Jennings touchdown passes, the Associated Press reported.

Nothing has changed on the mound. Nick Martinez starts for Tampa Bay, and Cleveland opens with reliever Shawn Armstrong in a bullpen game, according to ESPN's Jorge Castillo. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said his players were used to playing every day and would be ready, ESPN reported.

New Dream and Valkyries open the WNBA Finals with Allisha Gray back
Atlanta DreamGolden State Valkyries
Whoever wins this series will be lifting the trophy for the first time. Atlanta and Golden State tipped off Game 1 of the best-of-seven WNBA Finals at 3:30 PM ET at a sold-out Chase Center in San Francisco, on NBC and Peacock, according to ESPN.
Atlanta got good news before the opener. Forward Allisha Gray, the Dream's leading scorer in the regular season, was declared available after missing the last two games of the semifinal sweep of New York with an injured finger on her shooting hand, ESPN reported. Coach Karl Smesko said he did not expect her minutes to be limited.
Golden State, in only its second season, swept all three regular-season meetings, while Atlanta has won each of its last 10 games, according to the Associated Press. Game 2 is Monday at 8 PM ET in San Francisco before the series moves to Atlanta's State Farm Arena for Games 3 and 4.
There is still no final word on Chicago's quarterback. Caleb Williams remains officially questionable with a hamstring injury for Sunday's 1 PM ET game at Atlanta, and the Bears had not announced a decision as of this afternoon, according to ESPN and the team's injury report. Chicago did activate nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon off the physically unable to perform list on Saturday, ESPN's Courtney Cronin reported, and placed defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo on injured reserve.
In Philadelphia, the Eagles are not planning to put Jalen Hurts on injured reserve, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hurts is out indefinitely with a blood clot, and the report said the call on his return will come from his own medical team. That is a sourced report, not a team announcement. Tanner McKee starts Sunday against Carolina, and the Eagles consider a return next week realistic for Saquon Barkley, who has already been ruled out for this game, ESPN reported.
